If you are like a lot of people, you think you'll make it to heaven because you've been a good person. Maybe you've helped the poor, gave to charities, was always to work on time, etc. All of these are a good things in and of themselves, but, they aren't good enough to get you into heaven.
Ephesians; 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
There's no way you can ever be good enough, because your sin has separated you from a righteous God. The only way to get rid of that sin is through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. You must come to Jesus for forgiveness of sin.
1John; 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faith and just to forgive us our sins and to cease us from all unrighteousness.
God loves you and doesn't want you to perish, but He isn't going to force you to accept the free gift of eternal life. You must come to Jesus on your own free will to receive forgiveness. Don't put it off until another day. Today is the day for you to get right with God.
God Bless You

No Hidden Sin!
1John 1:5-6 This is the message we have heard from Him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with Him while awe walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
If we are living a life with unconfessed sin, we are separated from God. Light and darkness cannot occupy the same place at the same time. John tells us here that if we are continuing to sin, and telling others that we have fellowship with God, we are lying and not telling the truth. Not only that, but this sin in our life is interfering with our fellowship with God and other Christians.
Maybe you justify it by saying "it's just a little sin that isn't affecting anyone." But that's not true as sin affects everyone. It is like a cancer that continually eats away at the believers life taking them further away from God and other believers.
The good news of the Gospel is that God is faithful in that if we confess that sin and turn away from it, He will forgive us that sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If you are living a lie, confess it to God and ask for forgiveness. He'll restore that close fellowship you had with Him when you first believed.
