Have you noticed that your friends you had before you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior have either become Christians or they have gone their own way? Now I'm not saying that all of them have left, but I'm sure that some have because you are a different person from who you used to be. When Jesus comes into your life he gives you a new thought process from what you had before you became a Christian. The things you used to do without giving it a second thought, you now won't do because Jesus has said to live a holy life. It takes time to change, but you will change. You are now alive spiritually, and not dead in your sins. You now have the Holy Spirit living in you and giving you direction on how to live. You are becoming a new creation in Christ.
God will mold you into the likeness of His Son Jesus Christ. Your friends will see the change in your life and they will either want what you have, or they will move their own way. God tell us that they will wonder why you have changed.
1Peter; 4:4
(In all this, they are surprised that you do not run with them into the same excesses of dissipation, and they malign you;)
In your past, you may have participated in some of the worldly desires of the flesh. Now you want to do the will of God.
1Peter; 4:3
(For the time already past is sufficient for you to have carried out the desires of the Gentiles, having pursued a course of sensuality, lust, drunkenness, carousing, drinking parties and abominable idolatries.)
You are a new creation in Christ, and He expects you to be a light in the world.
2Corinthians; 5:17
(Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.)
You aren't the same person you used to be and others will notice the change. We are to be living witnesses, and the way we live our life tells others a lot about who we have become. We have a new life and our goal is to obey God and give Him the glory in all that we say and do. We are to tell others about Jesus and the new hope we have in our life.
1Peter; 3:15
(but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;)
Remember, your friends are watching you to see how you live. How you live could bring them to Jesus for forgiveness us their sins and the Gift of Life which is in Jesus Christ.
God Bless You!
