Sharper Than Any Two-edged Sword!

Most of us have a healthy respect for a sword or knife. Just the thought of it cutting us or piercing us sends shivers up our spine. Why is that? We all know that everything that is vital in the human body is on the inside or at least connected to the inside. Our life line is in our blood and if we lose it, we die. So to be cut or pierced in a way that reveals our blood scares us. Anytime someone has a knife in their hand and we don't know their intention, it makes us uneasy and we just want them to put it away.

It's the same way when we talk with unbelievers about the Word of God. Just the thought of the Word being spoken to them makes them very uneasy and usually they just want to get away. What makes them so nervous? God tells us that the Word reveals to a person that they are not able to hide the intention and condition of their heart.
Hebrews; 4:12
(For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper that any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.)
Now we know why it makes people nervous. It gets right to the heart of the matter and shows us all that we are sinners and in need of a Savior. When the Word of God is spoken to someone, it reveals the inside. Nothing is hidden and there is no getting around the fact that we are not righteous in Gods eyes. God tells us that no one is righteous not one. So what do we do?

God tells us that we must believe in His Son if we want to have eternal life.
John; 6:40
(And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.")
There is hope for us no matter what we have done. Jesus came to die for our sins and if we come to him for forgiveness, He will forgive us and give us eternal life. Once you have given your life to Jesus and have put your faith in Him, then you will want to be in the Word of God. This is where we learn what God expects from us and He tells us how we are suppose to live. Jesus tells us that if we come to Him, He will not cast us out.
John; 6:37
(All that the Father gives to Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.)
That is a promise form Jesus and we can believe that He will do what He has promised. If you haven't put your faith in Jesus yet, today is the day. Don't wait until it is to late.

God Bless You!
