The Time Will Come

2Timothy; 4:3-4
(For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.)
I personally feel that we are seeing this today. Some churches today don't preach about hell or eternal destruction. Why don't they tell the congregation the truth about what God has to say about hell. Could it be that they won't endure the truth? I personally feel that they won't so they get a watered down message. Then they can leave church feeling good about themselves and not have any conviction about consequences of sin.

Truth can be a hard pill to swallow when it convicts you of sin. If you don't want to turn from that sin, then you move on to a more friendly message church. Hell is definitely a reality for those who refuse to put their faith in Jesus Christ. If it wasn't a reality, why would Jesus say it was the destiny for those who are not forgiven of their sins? When the Word is not taught in truth but made to feel good, that is an injustice to all the hearers. Their eternal life is being put in jeopardy beacuse they want their ears tickled and they move away from sound doctrine.

2Timothy; 4: 1-2
(I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.)
Know for certain that God does want preachers to teach the whole truth from His word. He wants us to know the truth and the whole truth. Whatever you do, don't turn a deaf ear to the Word of God. Take your Bible with you when you go to church. Search the Scriptures daily as the the people of Berea did and don't be fooled by half doctrine. If your ears itch, scratch them with the truth from God's word.

God Bless You!
