A Stiff-Necked People!

I'm sure you have heard the saying "The more things change, the more they remain the same". It is just as true today as when Moses was leading the people through the Wilderness. God would give them a command and they would disobey. Sound familiar? Today we are a stiff-necked people just like they were. We refuse to obey God just like they did. God says don't steal, don't commit adultery, don't kill, don't bear false witness and the list goes on. We kill the unborn babies, lie on the witness stand, commit adultery, steal from our employers and so forth. We are commanded not to have any other gods before God and we worship money, sports figures, movie stars, and on and on. We have placed everything in front of God and most don't even want Him around.

In America today we not only have corruption in main stream life but it spills over into our governing officials. This just shows us that anyone can fall into sin even if they are an elected official. God tells us "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". Some people who are put into a position of public trust cannot be trusted any more than anyone else. Whether it be politics or your in neighborhood schools. It's sad but true. Now I'm not saying that all public officials and teachers cannot be trusted, but that some have shown us that any of us can fall into temptation.

Whats the answer? We need to pray for our elected officials and people in a position of trust, that they remain faithful to God. If they don't know God, that they will come to know Him. He is the only one who can clean up this mess. Unfortunately, many don't believe so things just keep getting worse. As believers, we need to be examples to the rest of the world. Don't be mistaken, they are watching us. So lean on God's strength and power, not your own so you don't fall.
1Corinthians; 10:12-13
(Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.)

God Bless You!
