Pharisees And The Law!

Mark; 2:17 When Jesus heard it, He said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."
Jesus had gone to Levi's house to eat and there were tax collectors and sinners there also. They were just having dinner when some scribes and Pharisees saw them eating. They confronted His disciples and ask why Jesus was eating with sinners and tax collectors? The Pharisees were the religious elite dealt with legal matters pertaining to the law. They so esteemed the "letter" of the law of Moses (more so than the "spirit" of the law), and so esteemed the oral traditions that were said to have sprung from the law, that they developed strict applications of the law for everyday life. When Jesus heard them comment about Him eating with sinners, He corrected them and told them He came to save the unrighteous. Maybe you don't think you are unrighteous, but the Scriptures say that none are righteous no not one. Everyone of us is a sinner and thus unrighteous. When you repent of your sins and ask Jesus into your life, He washes you clean of all unrighteousness. He is the only way to be saved from your sins and inherit eternal life. Eternal life is in Jesus and no one else. If you are putting your faith in anyone besides Jesus, you are not going to spend eternity with God but will spend it in the Lake of Fire.

God can save you but you must come to Him for forgiveness of sins. The penalty of sin is death  and separation from God through all of eternity. Eternal life is the free gift from God through Jesus Christ and Him only. You must repent and come to Him to get that gift. He is waiting for you to come but the decision is yours to make.
John'3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

Are You Wasting Your Time?

Matthew; 7:6 (Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.)
Now what is being said here? When you are witnessing, you must make a judgment call. Is this person open to hearing the truth from God's Word or do they just want to be argumentative. Under Mosaic Law, dogs and swine are unclean animals. Here this refers to wicked people. So what are we to do when we encounter these type of people?

When we meet people who treat God's truths with contempt and all they want to do is be abusive and or violent, we are not under any obligation to continue to share the gospel with them. Now this does require some spiritual discernment and we need to ask God for wisdom when dealing with this person. Only God knows the heart of man so prayer will be in order. After you have shared the gospel with this person and they just want to blaspheme the Word of God, then it would appear you are wasting your time with them. What you have told them about God, they then become responsible themselves with what they know.
2Peter; 2:21 (For it would have better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment delivered to them.)

If you are spending time witnessing to a person who is obstinate, give them the gospel and move on to someone else. Spending to much time with argumentative people results in lost labor. Move on to the person who is ripe for the seed to be planted and having a heart that is open to hear the Word. We obey God by planting the Word and then God causes the growth.

God Bless You!

Eternal Life, Do You Know God?

If you were to ask someone what is eternal life, most likely they would tell you that it is spending eternity in heaven with God. That is true but Scriptures has much more to say about eternal life. As a result of Jesus work of redemption at the cross, God has given His Son authority over all mankind. This authority entitled Him to give eternal life to those whom the Father had given Him. God offers salvation to anyone who would receive Jesus Christ. There is no one who can not be saved by trusting Jesus as Lord and Savior. All souls will live eternally, but only those who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior will spend it with Him. The rest will spend it in the Lake of Fire that was prepared for the devil and his demons.

John 17:3 ( And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. )
Eternal life is knowing God. How do we learn about God? We do it by studying His Word. Without know who God is and what He has done for you, you wouldn't know that eternal life was in Jesus the Son.
John; 3:16 (For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.)
It's not just about head knowledge of who Jesus is, it's about having a personal relationship with Him as your Lord and Savior. It's you realizing you're a sinner and in need of a Savior. Then you repent and tell Jesus you're sorry for your sins and ask Him to forgive you and save you. Tell Him you want Him to be Lord of your life.

Without Jesus, there is no eternal life!
1John; 5:11-12 (And this is the testimony; that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.)
John wrote these things so that those of us who believe in the Son of God, may know that we have eternal life. Also, that we may continue to believe in the Son of God. It's a continual abiding in Him and Him in us. Without Jesus, we can do nothing to save ourselves. He gave His life on the cross to pay the price for our sins. He is the only way to the Father.
John; 14:6 (Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.)
Give your life to Jesus today and have life abundantly.

God Bless You!
