"Why Did Jesus Come to Earth"? To Save The Lost!

Now that we are in full swing of the Christmas season, everyone is getting busier by the day. It seems like everyone is running around trying to get their shopping done. I happen to do a lot of my shopping before the rush starts. We just get run around by the different advertisements chasing from store to store. How many times have you heard people say, that they are glad that it is all over? They are worn out by all the hustle.

Before Jesus was born into the world, Joseph and Mary had gone to Bethlehem for the census. There was no room for Joseph and Mary so they were put up in a stable. Here is Mary, about to give birth, and they are in a stable. But that was where Jesus was going to be born, in a lowly stable.

After he grew and started His ministry, He reminded people that He came to save the lost and to be a servant. Not exactly what you would expect from God the Son. People say that He wasn't God, just a good person. Jesus tells us in the Scriptures that He came to earth. Now if someone came to earth, this means that they had to have existed before they came. I don't know anyone except Jesus who existed before He was born. But Jesus says I came to fulfill what was written about Me.
Matthew;5:17
(Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.)
If you come to do something, you had to come from some other place.
John;16:28
("I came from the Father and have come into the world; I am leaving the world again and going to the Father.")

Jesus is telling us that He came from the Father. Now I would think that most of us believe that the Father is God. If Jesus came from the Father, then He had to have been with God the Father. This would prove that he existed with the Father, and that he had been sent from the Father to earth. He came as God the Son.
John;1:1-2
(In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.)
John;1:14
(And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.)
Now when someone tells us that Jesus was a good man, that is true. He was also God the Son in the flesh.

Jesus had a purpose for coming down from God the Father. He came to die in our place and give us Salvation through Him.
Matthew;18:11
("For the Son of Man has come to save that which is lost.)
Matthew;1:21
("She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.)
There is many places in the Scriptures that affirm the Deity of Jesus. He came because He loved us so much. He knew that we were without any hope of making it to Heaven. So God in His perfect plan came down to earth to bring us Salvation. There had to be a perfect sacrifice in order to satisfy a righteous and Holy God. Jesus who is righteous and Holy, came to earth to be that sacrifice, the atonement for our sins. So the next time that someone tells us that Jesus was a good man, we need to let them know that he was also God the Son.
Mark;10:45
("For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.")

As we go through the Christmas Season, let's not forget that we were given the perfect gift from God the Father in Jesus the Son. You can imagine what our destiny without Him would be. Don't wait, accept the free gift of life in Jesus Christ our Savior. If you haven't already accepted Jesus as your Savior, admit to Him that you are a sinner, confess Him as Lord of your life, and invite Him into your life, and believe in Him. Then you can thank Him for saving you. I pray you will do this before it is to late.

God Bless you!
