Rapture! Not Tribulation!

When will God take his people from the earth? Some people are pre-tribulation, others are mid-tribulation, and still others are post-tribulation. I happen to be pre-tribulation. I will give you some Scripture that causes me believe this way.

What is a tribulation? Websters explains it as: distress or suffering resulting from oppression or persecution; also a trying experience.
Not something that any of us would want to go through.

In the book of John, we are told by Jesus Himself that He is going to prepare a place for us, and that He will come and take us to be with Him.
John;14:1-4
("Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.")
So Jesus tells us He is coming to take us home to be with Him.

Jesus bore God's wrath for us when He took our place on the cross. The penalty for our sins has been paid.
Romans;5:8-10
(But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.)
In this Scripture, we are told that we will be saved from God's wrath.
Romans;8:1
(There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.)

Another place in the Scriptures where we are told that we will be delivered away from the wrath to come.
1Thessalonians;1:9-10
(For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.)
A couple of other places in Scripture which make me believe in pre-tibulation are also in the book of 1Thessalonians.
1Thessalonians;4:16-17
(For the Lord Himself will decend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the lord.)
Now I want to explain this. If you die your spirit goes to be with the Lord, when He returns to gather those who are alive and remain, you will be given a new resurrected body.
1Corinthians;15:42-44
(So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.)

We are told again that we will be given a new body equiped for eternity.
1Corinthians;15:50-54
(Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed- in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptable, and we shall be changed. For this corruptable must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptable has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory.")
1Thessalonians;5:9
(For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus.)

Now these are some of the reasons why I believe in pre-tribulation. I just don't think that we are destined to go through that kind of troubles. We are told that it will be a terrible time on earth. The earth will not have seen anything as bad as what will happen. We are told in the book of Revelation that men will not repent of their of sins. I don't want to be here when these things take place, and you don't want to be here either. There is going to be pain, suffering, death, terror so bad that we can't even imagine.

Now is the time to give your life to Jesus. Ask Him to forgive you and save you. Make sure that your name is in the Book of Life.

God bless You!
