Who Do You Really Work For?

We all have a job. Some of us like our jobs and some of us don't like our jobs. But why do we really go to work? Most of us go to supply what we need for our families. We are able to do this because we receive a wage. Aren't we glad of that? But what if we got the wage that we deserve. Do you do your job whole heartedly for your employer? I would pray that we do. Who do you work for? Some of us work for the State, the City, private employer's and so on. What does the Bible say about who we work for?

The Scriptures give us guidelines on how we are to work.
Colossians;3:22-24(Slaves, in all things obey those who are your masters on earth, not with external service, as those who merely please men, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. What ever you do, do your work heartly, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.)
Ephesians;4:28(He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one in need.)

We work for our needs, but we need to be willing to share with those who are in need. Especially those of our own household and also our fellow brethren.
1Timothy;5:8(But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.)
James;2:15-16(If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and be filled," and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?)
If we work, then we should have what we need and hopefully enough to share with others.

We are also told to work for heavenly treasures, and keep our sights on Jesus.
When Jesus went to Capernaum, the crowd followed Him and ask Him how He got there.
John;6:26-27(Jesus answered them and said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but beacuse you ate of the loaves and were filled. "Do not work for food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God has set His seal.")
We need to work for our earthly needs to live, but we also need to work for our heavenly needs for eternal life. The crowd then ask Jesus what that work was that He was talking about.
John;6:28-29(Therefore they said to Him, "What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?" Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.")

So we have the job to believe first. Now we need to spread the word. We are directed to tell others about Jesus.
Matthew28:19-20("Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the ends of the age.")
Colossians;3:16-17(Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.)

Jesus has done everything for us. He gave His life so that we could have Salvation through Him. Now we need to do the work that He has given us.
1. Colossians;3:2(Set your mind on things above, not on the things that are on earth.)
2. Matthew;22:36-37("Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" And He said to him, "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOU HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.")
These are just a couple of things we are to do. Our goal is to do what pleases our Lord and Savior.

The fields are ripe for harvest. The time is getting shorter by the second. We need to tell others about the way to heaven.
Matthew;9:37(Then he said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.)
Every day people are dieing in their sins. Don't be one of them. Stop what you're doing and kneel down and repent of your sins and ask Jesus into your heart. He says he will forgive you and give you eternal life in heaven with Him. We all know that you don't want to be left behind and go through the tribulation period. God doesn't want you to end up in hell, but the choice is all yours. He won't make you love Him, or accept the free gift of life that He is offering to you. If you haven't ask Jesus into your life, don't wait.

God Bless You!
